What is the best way to
clean the tiles and grout once they have been treated with EnduroShield®? To keep
your tiles & grout looking new, clean each week using a damp microfiber
cloth and a mild detergent to remove any soap scum, dirt or grime from the
tiled surface. If required to control mold, a solution of bleach and water (1
part bleach to 4 parts water) can be sprayed onto effected grout lines and left
overnight.
How
often do the tiles & grout need to be cleaned once EnduroShield® has been
applied? To keep your tiles & grout looking new, clean each week using
a damp microfiber cloth and a mild detergent to remove any soap scum, dirt or
grime from the tiled surface.
Will the coating crack,
peel or discolor over time? No the
coating is only 2 molecules thick and is transparent. It will not crack or
discolor over time. It is not like a lacquer or varnish.
Does the
coating get attacked by chemicals? Generally no, but the coating
can be effected by strong acids and alkali's. Please refer to the list of
acceptable cleaners to use on the protected surfaces found under the care
instructions of the EnduroShield website: www.enduroshieldusa.com/care-instructions
Will the
surface become patchy if the coating is worn off in any way? No. The
coating is only two molecules thick and transparent, thus it does not change
the appearance of the surface. If an abrasive was to be used, where the coating
was worn away would not be visible. That area would, however, be harder to
clean. The unprotected surface can be easily repaired by cleaning and
re-spraying with EnduroShield®. The molecules will bond directly to the
untreated surface.
Do I
still need to seal the tiles after I have EnduroShield® applied?
No,
the coating not only creates an easy to clean surface, but also a protective
barrier to resist staining.
Can I have
EnduroShield® applied over tiles that have already been sealed with a product?
No,
the product needs to be applied to untreated tiles and grout in order to bond
with the surface.
Can EnduroShield® be applied to floor tiles?
Yes,
testing has shown that the coating will not make the surface slippery. As the
tile is sealed, and protected from water soaking into the surface, the water
beads, and the conditions that cause the slipperiness are reduced. Abrasion
will limit the durability of the coating in high traffic areas.
